About Dr. Galbraith
Dr. Galbraith is a Family and Sports Medicine Physician in East Texas. From 2021-2023, he served as the Associate Program Director of the University of Texas at Tyler Sports Medicine Fellowship. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Galbraith practiced medicine in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada for 11 years, before moving to Tyler, TX. in 2021. Dr. Galbraith is an expert in diagnosing and treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, from acute injuries to chronic disorders. He has extensive knowledge of point of care ultrasound, ultrasound-guided injections, platelet-rich plasma injections, prolotherapy injections, hydrodilatation (for frozen shoulder), hydrodissection (for nerve entrapment), and concussion management. He has a passion for lifestyle medicine and truly believes exercise is the best medicine.
Accomplishments
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Galbraith is a passionate educator and scholar, having received awards for his teaching skills, and published on topics related to sports medicine injuries and conditions. Dr. Galbraith has also presented at both the national and international levels on his research and interests (CASEM, ACSM, and AMSSM).
Dr. Galbraith is actively involved in teaching, giving presentations, and research since starting residency in 2006. While working in Canada, he was faculty with the University of Calgary School of Medicine and Rural Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Galbraith then worked as the Associate Program Director for the UT Tyler Sports Medicine Fellowship program from 2021-2023 and continues to be an Associate Professor of Medicine with the UT Tyler Family Medicine Residency Program and Faculty for the UT Tyler Sports Medicine Fellowship. He has received multiple awards for his teaching excellence.
He has given > 30 presentations on various Sports Medicine related topics, including Platelet Rich Plasma, Prolotherapy, Hydrodilatation for Frozen Shoulder, Sudden Cardiac Death in Athletes, and Exercise is Medicine.
