Plantar Fasciitis & Achilles Tendonitis Exercises

What is plantar fasciitis?

Plantar fasciitis is a common condition characterized by inflammation and irritation of the plantar fascia, which is a thick band of tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot, connecting the heel bone to the toes. This condition typically causes pain in the heel or the arch of the foot, especially with the first few steps after waking up in the morning or after periods of inactivity.

The plantar fascia plays an important role in supporting the arch of the foot and absorbing shock while walking or running. When it becomes strained or overstressed, tiny tears can develop in the tissue, leading to inflammation and pain.
